HEALTH CARE PRODUCTS INDUSTRY FAILS THE PATRIOT INDEX

Based on thirteen (13) indices of performance, the Association for Service Disabled Veterans (ASDV) businesses has disclosed that the NONE of the leading suppliers of health care products has a performance record for assisting Service Disabled and Prisoner of War Veterans (SDV) to maintain their rehabilitation as smaller business owners and operators (SDVE).

"Although the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System is the world's largest single purchaser of health care products for Disabled Veteran and U.S. Department of Defense Service personnel, the industry and its leaders show a consistent disdain for the sacrifice of SDVE and their need for rehabilitation assistance."

"However, the health care industry continues to amass enormous profit from providing goods and services for the disabled veterans' misery and pain. All Americans should be ashamed of an industry that declines to support those persons who sacrificed their well being for the freedom and security of the world,' said John K Lopez, Chairman of ASDV.

It is noteworthy that in recent weeks other industry leaders such as AT&T and Verizon have "made the connection" between their prosperity and the sacrifice of America's Service Disabled Veterans and have initiated aggressive SDVE support programs. To address this embarrassment the federal government has initiated PL 106-50.

ASDV is compiling related indices measuring the financial services, power, utility and government agency support for the rehabilitation of our nation's service disabled and prisoner of war veteran businesses for the consideration of the U.S. Congress as it monitors Public Law 106-50.
