In
response to the national economic crisis, the U.S.
Small Business Administration announced it is strongly
encouraging its participating 7(a) lenders and Certified
Development companies to work with business borrowers
to provide them with the flexibility they need to keep
their businesses running during these difficult economic
times.
As
access to credit and capital has tightened, many businesses
face increased challenges in meeting their financial
obligations. This is especially true of new small
businesses hit hard by the recent economic slowdown
that are now unable to make payroll, or purchase essential
inventory.
However,
procurement and contracting opportunities for veterans
remain viable and expanding with the new "stimulus" strategies.
No
matter what the direction of the National Economy,
the Federal, State and Local Governments will continue
to collect tax revenue to procure and contract for products
and services.
The
Association for Service Disabled Veterans (ASDV) has
established an "OPPORTUNITY" program
to support our nation's commitment to the entrepreneurship
aspirations of our military service veterans.
ASDV
is the pioneer in the development of entrepreneurship
as a rehabilitation strategy for veterans, and has sponsored
most of the significant federal and state legislation
in effect throughout the nation.
